Recording in Progress...

Ok, so I said I would blog, which by definition seems to imply more than one writing!!  :-)  I said I would write again about the upcoming recording project, and then seemed to fall off the edge of the earth!  Well, there is some question about the timing of going to Israel, and the recording was put aside to get through the holidays without disrupting family too much.  But here we are, and it's time to pick up blogging... and, recording.

It all started (this idea of recording again) after the Lord spoke about releasing me to go to Israel.  I had dreamed for so long of SOMEDAY going to Israel, that just the idea of actually going stirred so deeply in me, that I couldn't help but sing!  'Israel's Song' was birthed out of that moment.

"To touch the ground right where Your feet have walked with multitudes!
To breathe the air the woman breathed who touched the hem of Your robe.
(When) virtue flowed out of you.  Let it flow out of me!
Feet on the ground there, my heart in the heavenlies!
Where You stood when you taught us to pray, I'll reach up into heaven pull down for today.

To worship You like David did - IN JERUSALEM!
To praise You there, as You raise up his tabernacle, again!
All that I know is I hear my heart pound, just at the thought of releasing Your sound (there).
I'll shout at Jericho, weep at Rhema, cry in the wilderness, 'prepare the way'
'Cause I am for song, God and I'll be Your sound.  I'll open my heart with my ear to the ground!

There's no tellin' what I'll hear there, no tellin' what I'll see...
But I know there's revelation and sound stored up for me."

  • Although other songs will be included, this one was the catalyst for a recording.  It's hard to explain how I feel that a trip to Israel is significantly tied to 'my assignment', or what God has called me to do.  It has to do with the line in the song 'Cause I am for song, God and I'll be Your sound.  I'll open my heart with my ear to the ground.'  I believe I will hear the sounds of heaven there, in a way I never have yet.  I expect to bring home increased revelation and deeper intimacy with Jesus.   More songs for the body of Christ, will come, as a result of placing my feet on the ground of Israel and putting my 'ear to the ground' while I'm there.

You see, I chose the web address (Iamforsong) for this blog very intentionally. Within the last number of months the Lord has touched me to the core from the scripture about Chenaniah.

"And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was for song: he instructed about the song, because he was skilful."  1 Chron 15:22 KJV
What does THAT mean?  That he was 'FOR SONG'?  It's sooooo good, I just have to share it with you.  There are a number of Hebrew words that can be translated 'song' in English.… they mean what you would expect; singing, musical,  one specific to using instruments, that kind of thing. BUT THIS  ‘song’ (Strongs 4853) means a burden, porterage, singing, desire, prophecy, song.   From root (5375) to lift, arise, bring forth, marry magnify, stir up, YIELD.  Are you getting this?  Chenaniah was all about the prophetic song of intercession.  It means burden.  That coupled with singing, desire, and prophecy can only mean singing prophetic intercession!  The word 'porterage' is explained this way in our dictionary:
‘Porterage’ – the transportation of goods by a porter. The charge for this transportation.  DOOR OPENER.

Now, I don't know about you, but when I spend time in worship and intercession before the throne of God, this sounds like what I want to do.  I want to 'enter into His gates' and transport goods from the storehouse in heaven, and bring them to earth!  I want to be a part of seeing His Kingdom established in the earth!  I want to open doors for others to enter His presence and experience all He has for them!  There are many references in scripture to the gatekeepers, who are almost always listed with the singers in David's tabernacle.  As God is restoring David's tabernacle in the body of Christ in the earth today, there are more and more of us who are recognizing the marriage of worship and intercession, and our place as those who reach into heaven, and pull down the Kingdom for today.  So, I believe that Chenaniah was the prophetic song leader.  The one who taught others how to hear the sounds of heaven, and sing them into the earth.  Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about!!  :-)  And now, more than ever, I know, that... 'I am for song'.

So, as I move ahead, making some songs available to others... I'll keep you posted, or should I say, blogged.  :-)  And, because several of the songs came out of incredible times in the Word, I'll share a bit of revelation I feel the Lord has shared with me, along the way.  Blessings to you all.  Thanks for reading.
P.S.There is also a song 'Dance' that many of you have asked me for.  Oh, I should save that for the next time.  :-)  But yes, it will be on the recording, along with a few others as well.
